She has painted her Seven Species tof Miriam (Miriam’s drum) with vivid colors, from a gorgeous red pomegranate to a delicious-looking purple fig. The original artwork is surrounded by Hebrew words spelling out the seven species.
A tof Miriam is so-named in honor of Moses’ sister Miriam who led the Israelite women in song after their safe crossing of the Sea of Reeds. The drum is made from wood with mother-of-pearl inlay and stretched leather, making it beautiful to look at and wonderful to play.
