Rebbe Nachman said, “Wherever I go, I am going to Jerusalem.” With this exquisite challah board on your Shabbat and holiday table, you will always have Jerusalem close to you.
Noa originally created her first challah (bread traditionally eaten on Shabbat and holidays) board for herself. She wanted something that was beautiful and befitting the festive Shabbat meal. It is considered worthy to beautify your Shabbat table by making it look as pretty as possible and using items that are specially designated for Shabbat.
Noa has created a papercut for this challah board that features an intricately cut design of the Holy City, circling two phrases traditionally heard at the Shabbat table.
The center of the challah board features a phrase in Hebrew, from the blessing, said over bread, “Brings forth bread from the earth”. (The whole blessing reads “Blessed are you Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth.’)
Surrounding the blessing is a phrase that many people say, or have in mind prior to reciting the blessing over the challah. “You open your hands and supply the needs of all”.
The detail and design of this artwork are breathtakingly beautiful. Your Shabbat table will look exceptional with this challah board at the center!
