This glorious original artwork from Leah Tal, a handheld drum, proudly features the Lion of Judah surrounded with the verse from Genesis 49:9, part of Jacob’s blessing to his sons.
When Jacob blessed Judah, he said, “Judah, my son, is a young lion that has finished eating its prey. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, who dares to rouse him?”
Leah Tal was inspired to create this beautiful artwork both by the Bible and from living in the Holy City of Jerusalem, which was part of the Kingdom of Judah, and until today features the Lion of Judah as its emblem.
The drum is made from wood with mother-of-pearl inlay and stretched leather, making it beautiful to look at and wonderful to play.
