Noa originally created her first challah (bread traditionally eaten on Shabbat and holidays) board for herself. She wanted something that was beautiful and befitting the festive Shabbat meal. It is considered worthy to beautify your Shabbat table by making it look as pretty as possible and using items that are specially designated for Shabbat.
Noa designed a gorgeous papercut that features a wreath of colorful Israeli wildflowers amidst an intricate papercut.
The center of the challah board features a phrase in Hebrew, from the blessing, said over bread, “Brings forth bread from the earth”. (The whole blessing reads “Blessed are you Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth.’)
Surrounding the blessing is a phrase that many people say, or have in mind prior to reciting the blessing over the challah. “You open your hands and supply the needs of all”.
This challah board is genuinely special. Made with love and care to enhance your Shabbat table.
